Astor Piazzolla conceptualized "Tango nuevo", and it was the strong identity of his melodies which was the reason for the reluctance encountered at the start of his emancipation from traditions.
He quickly conquered a new audience in his country and his music became the iconic sound of a city, of an era, undeniably embodying the revival of a genre that was increasingly perceived as obsolete.
But above all his music has a universal character and that is what allowed him to conquer the world.
There is both strength and simplicity in her compositions which affect all audiences: I remember as a child having been fascinated by a TV credits which used one of her themes, before Grace Jones did not resume "Libertango" to make planetary success.
Beyond the composer, Astor is above all a performer and his music cannot be disconnected from his playing style, this style which restores all the roots of his music.
To celebrate the hundredth anniversary of his birth we will try to restore all the facets of his music.
