The saxophonist/flutist Didier Malherbe, is internationally renowned for playing with Gong, The Hadouk Trio and having featured on numerous albums: Zeff, Fluvius, Hadouk, Shamanimal, Now, Live à FIP, Utopies... With a surname like Malherbe, how could Didier not write poetry?! “L’anche des Metamorphoses” (the metamorphoses of reeds), a collection of 128 sonnets, is a vibrating tribute to wind instruments, their reeds and other musical subjects (Editions Comp'Act-Collection la Polygraphe). A show has been adapted from the book and since 2001, L’anche des Metamorphoses has played in Paris, Strasbourg, Nantes and Metz... Alternating between music, poems and rhyming vignettes, Malherbe paints the portraits of different characters of individual reeds: strong, cameleon, snaking. modest, sparingly, polyglot, butterfly…
